We parked at the rendezvous point in Velez Rubio, we then set off in a convoy over the motorway and along a river bed, then climbed into the hills. We split into groups, the walkers and runners, following either blue or red markers. We had noticed, during the journey about 20 to 30 griffon vultures circling overhead. The weather was perfect, as we gently climbed, enjoying the views over the surrounding countryside. As we reached the top of the hill, there was the remnants of a fortified building, with panoramic views.
