Corfu has an abundance of birds and wildlife, the island is rich in trees, plants, flowers and natural beauty, much of which seems to be overlooked by most of the tourists. As a teenager, I loved reading the book, My family and other animals, by Gerald Durrell, his love and passion for the creatures and people of Corfu has had an enduring effect on me.
Here are some of the best pictures, some of the flowers were cultivated in pots.
We enjoyed our stay. Over the week we walked from one end of the bay, the tunnel d’amour to the monastery at the other end. We walked up to the mobile telephone tower and beyond after advice from George at the Orchard Taverna. Most people we met were very friendly, we especially enjoyed a horse and carriage ride with Alex and Zander the horse.
Here are some of the pictures of the beautiful scenery, mountains and sea.
