We headed up to Oria again, this week. The hash was specially arranged as there were Hash House Harriers from Cambridge, Hastings Truro and our own Indalo, a coach brought the visitors from Mojácar, where they are staying. 51 and dogs, set off from the petrol station, the runners following symbols made from flour, the walkers following a hare (mad march, as it turned out). The walkers headed into town to begin the ascent to the ruins of a fortification on the hill, as seen on the view of Oria from Ogarite.
The views from the top were worth the climb.
Oria – trees and buildings that I liked the look of.
We then walked through the narrow streets towards the Church and square, where next week, due to the local fiesta, the lads playing football, will be replaced with dancers. We went into the Church.
These crosses of red and white with lilac carnations are traditionally made for the fiesta. We walked quite a way with the man on a donkey.
We then headed towards Ogarite, through open fields and vistas.
The weather was kinder to us this week, as we arrived near the bar for the circle, the rain did not pour down, although there were a
few shower clouds lurking.
