Some years ago, John’s brother Robert had dismantled an old wardrobe and cut the pieces up to make bird boxes. As he was coming out to visit us, he brought one of the bird boxes (flat packed). We had placed the box in various places in the garden over the years, with sparrows using it successfully. This year we secured the box to the side of the shed and we saw the activity of nest building with a male and female sparrow. It had become quite noisy so we knew there were chicks, this afternoon John took these photos.
The chicks must be nearly ready to fledge.
