Soda bread

A few weeks ago I was going to make a pizza for supper and the shop had no yeast, neither fresh nor dry, but they had buttermilk, so I made soda bread, which was a brilliant pizza base. I made another yesterday; I used a recipe from “The dairy book of British food.” I rolled the dough and formed a layer in the pizza tin, then smoothed tomato frito over this and sprinkled with oregano. I then layered the pizza with chorizo, tuna, sweet corn, pineapple and mozzarella cheese and cooked it in the oven. Sadly there are no photos, but soda bread does make a change!
