New Year’s celebration of kisses, cheers, champagne and Roscón de Reyes. The roscón is a traditional Spanish sweet bread, covered in nuts, sugar and sliced glacé fruit, filled with “nata y trufa”. Shaped in a circle or ring like a crown, the roscón is eaten at “Los Reyes”, the visit of the Kings to Jesus celebrated on 6th January, hidden in the cream are a King and a bean -“haba”. The finder of the King wears the crown, the finder of the bean, buys next year’s roscón. I got the bean!
