Today we travelled just a short way to the neighbouring pueblo of La Alfoquia. We made a circle opposite the now closed petrol station and after instructions from the hares, we set off. Don’t ask about the toilet seat!
As we walked towards the Rio Almanzora we passed by my hairdresser’s house and I noticed this lovely donkey.
Earlier this morning it had felt fresher, but the temperature steadily rose into the mid 30ºs. The runners, far more energetic than the walkers, were well ahead.
Crossing the dry river bed to Zurgena, with the clock tower on the hill. We then crossed back over on the road bridge and as we headed back, we took to the back lanes through the fields to the main road to Cucador (A-1101), we however turned left and back into La Alfoquia for the circle. The dogs enjoyed cooling off in the fast flowing water in the acequia, very tempting.
