Yesterday, we went to Almería city. We called into the University for coffee, situated close to, giving a good view of the bay, the modern buildings and pretty gardens made a good place to start.
We then drove towards the port area under the “cable Ingles“, moving into the narrower older streets climbing towards the Alcazaba, we eventually found somewhere to park.
We passed through the entrance and into the fortress.
We realised that it had been over twenty years since we last visited and there had been extensive renovations and more areas open to the public. I am always fascinated by the view over the the tall walls, with the beauty and serenity of the gardens contrasting with the activity and noise of the city below
After a good wander round we made our way down, back to the car, thankfully still intact!
We then went to our favourite tapas bar in the centre, where we enjoyed a very tasty and cheap lunch.
