Train to Hastings

Our final outing was a train to Hastings, the weather was dull and overcast. We were soon on our way, riding through the scenic Kent and Sussex countryside.

Hast110816We walked through the busy shopping area towards the sea,  the castle dominating the skyline. The sounds of gulls filling the sky.

Canterbury & Whitstable

Earlier in August we had a few days holiday in Kent, unfortunately I left my camera with family, I have only just been able to post abut the trip.

Cant080816Our first day entailed a drive through the Kent countryside to Canterbury.

We parked the car, it was busy as we walked through the streets towards the Cant1080816Cathedral.

The Cathedral

After spending time enjoying the solemnity and history of such a building, followed by a refreshing non alcoholic beverage, we travelled on to the coastal town of Whitstable.

Famous for Oysters.
